After 42 years as an educator and leader, Dr Amelia Toffoli is the Chair of the Consumer Advisory Council (FSFHG) and a member of the Emergency Department Consumer Advisory Group. Her award-winning doctorate is in education.
Her interest in and appreciation of the work of emergency departments comes from being a survivor of an aortic dissection and the care she received. Now an older adult and ‘nonna’ she promotes human factors, two-way communication and partnerships for better outcomes and experiences for healthcare works, consumers, and their families.
Previously a calculus teacher, after her husband’s passing, she writes poetry.
