ACEM have designed the 2026 ASM to be welcoming, practical and inclusive. Whether you’re attending on your own, with family, or with caring responsibilities. This page outlines the family, carer and accessibility supports available so you can stay connected to the program and make the most of your time in Perth.
- Pram-friendly sessions: dedicated pram parking areas will be available near the doors to both the south and north entrances of the Riverside Theatre plenary venue to keep aisles and exits clear while supporting parents and carers to attend.
- Seating & pram-friendly areas: prams are allowed in all public areas. Wide corridors and foyer seating areas are available, and the Summer Garden (Level 2) offers seating and smooth paths suitable for parents with prams. Space for prams will also be allocated alongside the wings within the Riverside Theatre.
- Parents’ room with plenary streaming: plenary sessions will be streamed to a dedicated parents’ room, offering a quieter space to stay connected to the program while caring for children.
- Dedicated parents’ room (during ASM): a dedicated parents’ room will be available during ASM in the Media Suite on Level 1. This room will contain a small refrigerator, comfortable seating, and gentle children’s activities. Additionally, the venue offers a secondary shared parenting room on Level 1 at the eastern end of the building. This space is equipped with chairs, a microwave, kitchenette, accessible toilet and shower, as well as a change table.
- Welcome Reception for families: children’s entertainment will be available at the Welcome Reception, and child tickets will be offered so families can attend together.
- Feeding and change facilities (at PCEC): PCEC provides multiple unisex accessible bathrooms throughout the venue. These can be used for nappy changing. Please refer to the accessibility map here for further information.
- Support for carers travelling with delegates: carers are welcome at ASM. Please speak to the team at the registration desk to seek further information regarding support options for carers to make onsite participation as smooth as possible.
- Companion and access arrangements: where appropriate, companion and access arrangements will be supported—please speak to the registration team onsite to discuss your requirements.
- Quiet, low-stimulation breaks: quiet break spaces will be identified for short time out away from busy areas.
-
Quiet Room: A dedicated Quiet Room will be made available in Meeting Room 11 on Level 2. The Quiet Room, is a calm space away from the noise and busyness of the conference and exhibition areas, available for delegates who need a break or time to decompress after distressing or overwhelming content. The room offers a peaceful environment with calming activities such as fidget toys and puzzles. Please respect others by keeping noise to a minimum and refraining from phone calls or conversations inside the room.
- Prayer Room: PCEC offers non-denominational prayer and reflection rooms on Level 3 of the Exhibition Centre, opposite meeting room E3.5.
