Stephen Macdonald is an Emergency Physician and Clinical Professor at the University of Western Australia Medical School. He is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Clinical Research in Emergency Medicine, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Perth, and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University. Prof Macdonald is Co-Chief Investigator of the ARISE FLUIDS research program, investigating early vasopressors in the initial resuscitation of septic shock. He is a past Chair of the ACEM Clinical Trials Network. Prof Macdonald has been recognised with an individual award from the Global Sepsis Alliance and has undertaken a Churchill Fellowship studying sepsis care in the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.
