Bernard is a Paediatric Emergency Physician and the medical lead for the Sepsis Program at Perth Children’s Hospital.
He has a longstanding interest in improving clinical care, team performance and outcomes in paediatric resuscitation and sepsis.
The PCH Sepsis Program partners with clinicians and consumers across WA to collect local data, develop resources, guidelines, pathways and education material and undertake research on sepsis care, local epidemiology and outcomes.
Current areas of focus fro the program are post sepsis care (with the development of a novel post-sepsis clinic and model of care) and collaborating on research developing novel sepsis diagnostics.
