Overview
This interactive half-day workshop, led by specialist neonatologists and NETS (Newborn Emergency Transfer Service) nurses, focuses on the critical early management of unwell newborns in the ED. Participants will explore key concepts such as the ‘golden hour’ of neonatal care, management of premature births, and time-sensitive conditions like hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy. The session combines practical, hands-on training in neonatal ventilation (including mask ventilation, CPAP, and ventilator settings) with case-based tabletop simulations to build confidence in stabilisation and preparation for transport.
Lead Facilitator
Dr Alexander Wilson (PCH Neonatologist and NETS Consultant), supported by NETS nurses
