Sally McCarthy AO FACEM MBA FIFEM is a senior emergency physician at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, with an academic appointment at UNSW and roles as an independent expert. She has led major tertiary, metropolitan and rural EDs and served as President of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine and ACEM. She has a substantial publication record and is a principal investigator with the Australian and New Zealand Airway Registry. She has led national and global initiatives including EMET, the NSW Emergency Care Institute, and the WHO Emergency Care Registry, and has received multiple honours, including appointment as an Officer of the Order of Australia.
