Elyssia Bourke

Emergency Physician, Melbourne Health

A/Prof Elyssia Bourke is an emergency physician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Grampians Health Ballarat as well as an honorary principle fellow within the University of Melbourne’s Department of Critical Care. Elyssia completed her PhD through the University of Melbourne in 2025.
She is the current Director of Emergency Medical Research at the RMH, the chair of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine Clinical Trials Network and an executive member of the University of Melbourne’s Department of Critical Care as well as the Paediatric Research in Emergency Medicine International Collaborative (PREDICT) network.
Her research interests are broad, matching the patient population that she cares for within the ED environment, but she has a particular interest in comparative effectiveness clinical trials.
