Dr Kate Ferguson is a Senior Forensic Medical Practitioner at the Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC), Western Australia, and a PhD candidate at Curtin University. Her research focuses on non-fatal strangulation, traumatic brain injury, and family and domestic violence, with a particular interest in improving identification, investigation, and health-system responses to violence-related injury. She has contributed to clinical education, policy development, and service innovation across Western Australia, including advocacy that informed standalone non-fatal strangulation legislation and the establishment of forensic injury documentation services for victim-survivors of family and domestic violence.
