Helen is an Emergency Medicine specialist in Sydney with a passion for sustainability. Her perspective was profoundly shaped by her time working in Antarctica and travelling to the Galápagos, experiences that highlighted just how rare and fragile our planet is. She now focuses on reducing waste and inefficiency in healthcare—a system that saves lives, but often at a cost to the environment. She founded the TREE (Targeting Resource Efficiency in Emergency) project, delivering practical change in everyday clinical care. Her work centres on cutting through unnecessary processes, bringing people with her, and finding better ways to deliver care with fewer wasted resources. She is driven to help clinicians turn concern into action—because doing no harm should include the planet too.
