Ian is a FACEM with decades of experience in Disaster management having been director of disaster preparedness and response at the NCCTRC, Darwin where he designed and implemented Australia’s AUSMAT teams. After leading multiple deployments and writing the Global standards for disaster response teams he joined the WHO for 6 years leading responses to outbreaks, conflicts and disasters. He now runs Sotero Healthcare a company supporting emergency health management, and also Respond Global which advises Governments and the WHO on emergency health response and runs a non-profit humanitarian ship and organisation in Vanuatu HELPR-1.
