Ventilation Masterclass

WS-Ventilator
Overview

This interactive half-day workshop focuses on the practical application of mechanical ventilation in the emergency department, with an emphasis on managing challenging and high-stakes clinical scenarios. Focusing on the Hamilton T1 Ventilator, and combining focused teaching with case-based group work, participants will explore key ventilation principles, modes, and strategies, which would still be of value for those using different ventilators. Through structured breakout sessions and facilitated discussions, attendees will apply their knowledge to real-world cases such as severe pneumonia, drowning and pneumothorax with ongoing air leak, before reconvening to consolidate learning and review NIV and invasive ventilation for severe asthma. The session is designed to provide practical tips and decision-making frameworks to optimise ventilation across a range of common and complex presentations.
