Dr Ngaire Caruso is an Emergency Physician at Fiona Stanley Hospital, WA and WA Country Health Emergency Telehealth Service. Ngaire’s interests include global health and medical education. Ngaire has a Master of Public Health (International Health) and is a member of the ACEM Global Emergency Care Committee. Her previous global health experience includes working for Medecins Sans Frontieres in Ethiopia, Uganda and on the Thai-Burmese border. Ngaire spent three years in Botswana (2010-2012) as part of a small team of Emergency Physicians who established the first Emergency Medicine Specialty training program in Botswana. Dr Caruso returned to the University of Botswana in 2019-2020 as the Head of Emergency Medicine. Since returning to Australia, Ngaire continues to contribute remotely to the development of Emergency Medicine in Botswana. Outside of Emergency Medicine, Ngaire is kept very busy by her three very energetic young sons and numerous outdoors adventures.
