Marian is in clinical practice as an Emergency Physician and Co-DEMT. She has an enduring interest in health professional education. She has sought experience and opportunities in teaching/learning through the various ACEM education committees, and educational roles at The University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. Through these engagements, she has encountered a wide spectrum of learners ranging from undergraduates and postgraduates from well-resourced to minimally supported learning environments. She has recognised that learning and teaching are bidirectional and the interaction between learning and teaching are influenced by multiple factors unique to the individual. The objective of this presentation is focused on exploring and discussing the significance of taking a different perspective to learning/teaching, putting thoughts into practice and reaping the benefits of collaboration.
