Faye came to medicine through a rather circuitous route. As a school leaver, she studied Speech Pathology, pursuing a career in this discipline for almost 20 years, and obtaining a PhD focused on the communication skills of children with acquired brain injury. In her mid-thirties, seeking a “life change”, Faye commenced medical school. Subsequently Faye has completed her RACP PEM, and her FACEM, alongside a masters in Public Health. She works as a Staff Specialist in Emergency at TPCH, across both the adult and paediatric Emergency Departments and more recently, as the Director of Research – Emergency Department TPCH. Her clinical interests are broad but include a special interest in adolescent mental health. She is involved in a range of collaborative research projects as site lead, and mentors several novice researchers across disciplines. Faye is a firm believer in collaborative relationships as the key to successful research.
