Colin Banks

Colin is an emergency physician in Townsville whose interest in pulmonary embolism diagnosis was borne out of frustration with increasing usage of CTPA. After raising the d-dimer threshold locally, and publishing it, he is now leading a multi-centre study of an even higher threshold. He enjoys the challenges of interpreting evidence-based medicine and co-wrote From Other Journals in Emergency Medicine Australasia for many years. Other interests include global emergency care, particularly through a longstanding commitment to capacity building in PNG.
