Graduated USyd MBBS (Hons1) in 1986. Completed FACEM in 1994.
Currently taking extended time out from being a Senior Emergency Physician, Director of the ICU and Clinical Executive Director at Canterbury Hospital.
Was a Non-executive Member of the Sydney LHD Board: March 2022- present
Over his career has been involved in:
-Disaster Training: Chair of the MIMMS Australasia: a UK based (ALSG) Disaster Training Program in the 1990s.
-Volunteer for SOCOG and was the Medical Manager for the Main Stadium during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
-Quality and safety work: Spent 5 years working part time for the Clinical Excellence Commission. Medical advisor and educator on CEC programs, involved in rolling out the Sepsis Kills Program, the DVT Prophylaxis Program for Lower Limb Injuries, the Between the Flag Program (Chair of the ED Chart development) and Leader of the team rolling out SIBR across NSW: a system for MDT bedside rounding.
Also more recently has been involved in health regulation through the NSW Medical Council:

Prior Chair of Performance and then Chair of Conduct Committees.
Current Chair of the Family Violence /Special Incidents Committee since its inception in 2020.
Deputy President NSW Medical Council since 2018 – 2020.

Interests include Medical Regulation, teaching and mentorship, quality systems in health care that focus on communication.
Outside of medicine, has been the Rotary President: Campsie Branch 2019 – 2020.
