Megan is an Emergency Physician and the Clinical Services Director (CSD) of Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Services at Western Health (WH) in Melbourne, Victoria. She has held this position since March 2024 and her portfolio includes 3 Emergency Departments, 2 Urgent Care centres and 2 ICU’s. Before her appointment as CSD, Megan was the Director of the Emergency Medicine Program at WH.
She sits on various committees including the Medical Appointments and Credentialing Committee, Clinical Council, the Timely Care Committee and is co-chair of the Deteriorating Patient Committee (Standard 8). She also sits on the Statewide Steering Committee for the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED).
Megan is the WH ED lead for the Department of Health Timely Emergency Care Collaborative and is the ED lead for the New Melton Hospital build.
She was previously the Director of ED at Northern Health, where she led the COVID-19 ED response. She graduated with a MBChB from Otago University, New Zealand in 2002 after previously graduating with a Diploma in Nursing. Megan completed her fellowship in Emergency Medicine in 2013 and her AFRACMA in 2020.
Megan is a highly motivated and dedicated emergency physician with a proven track record in innovation and leadership. She is passionate about empathy and courage in leadership and fostering team culture both within ED and across health services.
She is originally from New Zealand, but calls Melbourne home along with her Aussie husband and 3 children. They love to travel and are all passionate supporters of the All Blacks!
