Kathy Pearce

Kathy is the Nurse Unit Manager for Central Adelaide Palliative Care Service Community Team.
Kathy has extensive experience in the field of Palliative Care, having worked with Central Adelaide Palliative Care Service for the past 17 years as a Clinical Nurse and Nurse Consultant prior to moving into the Nurse Unit Manager role.
During her time with CAPCS, she has developed a genuine interest in providing Palliative Care to Vulnerable populations that often experience barriers to accessing services of the Specialist Palliative Care teams.

This work has included extensive experience working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that reside in the Central Adelaide Local Health Network. She has also had significant involvement on project work in this space, with a goal to improve access to Palliative Care services. She is also involved in providing in-reach Palliative Care services into the SA Prison Health Services across the state.
Prior to working in Palliative Care, Kathy had worked for many years in the Chronic Disease area including a Senior Nursing position with the Respiratory Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Kathy is a Registered Nurse, holding a master’s degree in Palliative Care.
