Dr Papendick has a keen interest in improving outcomes and resource utilization for patients presenting to emergency departments (ED) with chest pain, particularly those with suspected acute coronary syndromes (ACS). She has been involved in multiple studies regarding ED ACS protocols, including as the senior author of RAPID-TnT trial, the first randomized clinical trial comparing the European Society of Cardiology 0/1-hour high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) protocol with a conventional protocol. She led the transition to Hs-cTnT reporting South Australia in 2020. She was senior author of study examining the safety and resource utilization pre and post implementation of Hs cTnT(RAPID-PACE) which has recently been published on JAMA Network Open. She is currently an expert steering committee member for the writing of the latest Australian National ACS Guideline sponsored by the Australian National Heart Foundation.
