Dr. Martie Botha
Martie is a FACEM, working as an Emergency Medicine consultant at Flinders Medical Centre and as a Prehospital and Retrieval consultant for SAAS MedSTAR. She previously worked as a consultant for the Trauma Service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
She has years of experience in emergency medicine, trauma, prehospital and retrieval, critical care, geriatric medicine and paediatrics. She has worked in tertiary, metro and country hospitals in Australia, the UK and South Africa gaining extensive experience in different health services. Since her beginning as a junior doctor at The Royal Free Hospital, London (completing a year in Geriatric Medicine), she has been a passionate advocate for the elderly patient.
Over the years she has set up several processes for improving care for these patients. She is the current lead for the South Australian Trauma in Older Patients (TOPS) Committee.
