Associate Professor Sam Alfred is a medical specialist in the fields of Emergency Medicine, Clinical Toxicology and Prehospital and Retrieval Medicine. He has worked extensively in retrieval medicine in both New South Wales and South Australia, established and leads South Australia’s first Clinical Toxicology service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, is a Clinical Toxicologist with the New South Wales Poisons Information Centre, and is a senior specialist in the Royal Adelaide Emergency Department. He is involved in DFAT supported antivenom development and research projects in Myanmar, and in the research of illicit drug use in Australia.
